Pregnancy is a time of huge change both emotionally and physically.
Hormonal changes allow muscles and ligaments to stretch, and your posture alters to accommodate the growing baby. As the pregnancy progresses some women experience joint discomfort and symptoms such as bladder leaks and carpal tunnel syndrome.
For most women a session of advice and exercises can allow them to successfully manage these changes, others may need a full one to one assessment of the joints and muscles and perhaps some follow up treatments.
Research has shown that the majority of women can be helped with the advice and exercise prescription, so I
provide two services:
Group advice sessions - fortnightly advice and exercise session for up to 6 participants
Antenatal pelvic girdle pain assessment and treatment - A 1:1 assessment and treatment session lasting 1hour, ideal if you have been folllowing all advice from the group session but have not noticed any improvement. Women who would prefer a 1:1 assessment.
