Pelvic Health and Womens Health Physiotherapy
Pelvic health physiotherapy can be beneficial to women who have continence issues with the bladder or bowel, prolapse, pelvic pain, or difficulty passing urine or faeces.
Treatment can be varied and will be individually prescribed based on the initial assessment findings.
What happens during the appointment?
At your first appointment I will have in in depth discussion of your problems, symptoms and habits, this will allow me to direct the practical assessment to areas we need to focus on.
The assessment process will look at your posture, movement and abdomen as well as your pelvic floor and an internal examination will be part of this assessment.
What happens after the assessment?
After the assessment I will discuss my findings with you, give you a home exercise programme and plan any follow up treatment you may need.
Treatment may consist of manual treatment, an exercise programme, lifestyle changes and sometime additional treatment like biofeedback or electrical stimulation.
What should I wear to the appointment?
Please wear comfortable clothing that allows ease of movement, During the examination you will need to remove some clothing to allow the internal examination.
